Try Anything Baking...The First Post! Ashleigh's Top Ten Baking Rules!

I have decided to enter the wonderful world of 2011....and also have a great forum for putting all of my pictures/ baking information/ experiments etc into one place, since I predict the death of my laptop...soon. Maybe its the sugar corroding the keyboard, or the corn syrup dried to the screen...but either way, it is on its last legs! Try Anything Baking developed from me trying anything...while baking! One of my first memories of cooking was dyeing chocolate chip cookies bright green, much to my mom's dismay! Cooking is just too fun to stick to a script! To start things off...here are my rules of baking....
10. Recipes are meant to be broken. If I follow the directions, it means I am not creative/ bored enough to spice it up with something better/more colorful
9. Anything is made better with cereal! Especially throwing some honey bunches of oats into cookies!
8. If it says 1 cup of sugar...it really means two...or five
7. Christmas cooking starts in October, and celebrating starts in July!
6. Everyone should have a TV in their kitchen...food tastes better if its made while watching the Food Network!
5. Having parties is really an excuse to bake! So are holidays, birthdays, and Tuesdays...Sundays...pretty much every day!
4. Even though multicolored sprinkles add little actual taste, everyone looks classier eating things with them!
3. Baking is a fantastic way to show your dogs you love them while simultaneously getting your floor cleaned. Win- Win.
2. The best presents are homemade and one of a kind...meaning I usually cannot remember all of the random things I put in!
1. The more beautiful things you bake, the more beautiful the world around you becomes!
Enjoy the blog!
