DINO CAKE!!!!!!

I made this cake to celebrate my Master's Class cohort's one year anniversary! We have a small obsession with dinosaurs...so I thought it would be perfect! I made 3 smaller cakes, then cut them to shape the dino! the spikes are made from rolled fondant, and then I surrounded it with kisses!!!! The cake is a dark chocolate with crushed cookies and peppermint extract!

Butterfly Bday and Engagement Cake!

An end of the summer BBQ called for a cake that celebrated two birthdays and an engagement!!! So, to make sure that everyone felt loved...I went with a chocolate cake ball butterfly, on top of chocolate cake!!!
The butterfly was just cake ball material and dipped in chocolate! Then I painted the wings with corn syrup and added sprinkles! The border of the cake was chocolate chips and more sprinkles! Super fun and easy!

Back to School Cake Balls!

I had a BLAST making these mini apples for back to school cake balls! I also had a smalllllll/ large oven fire! I made a double batch of spice cake, then decided the pan was big enough (wrong)....soooo after some boiling over, and smoke alarms going of (don't tell my husband!) I had a GIANT spice cake! Super ugly, but the cake for cake balls can be :) kind of nice! Check out the steps below to see how I made them! I can't wait to share these guys with teachery friends, and at my new job...some big plans for cakes using these are at work in my mind...stay tuned!

So if you are new to cake balls like myself, they are super easy!
1) Make a cake! I have two here because I am also making some pencil cake balls tommorow, hence the chocolate on the let! You can also see that my spice cake is ugly, but look at step two to understand it does not matter!
Number 2....crumble your cake! Add some frosting, mix it all up....annnnnnnnd

Number 3.....mold into any shape you want! I used a baby ice cream scoop, then made the top bigger than the bottom! Last, I dipped in the candy coating (you can find it at Hobby Lobby aka HEAVEN!) and then I used a piece of Fiber One as the stem...others use pretzels, but they look to big to me!

Heath Fudge Brownies!

Sometimes when I really want chocolate deliciousness...I think of things that I like and combine them all in one bowl. Sometimes its awesome, sometimes its a firey mess! (Literally firey...my husband Josh has lost track of the amount of times I have lit the oven on fire- see my upcoming cake ball post tommorow :) )! TODAY....I decided that the 2 for $1 Heath bars were a good place to start! coupled with some amaretto and soy milk in the frosting, a billion extra chocolate chips, and a bunch of powdered sugar!
Yay mini chopper.....
Jussssssssst throw it all in the batter!!!
I put some amaretto in the frosting, because I think it makes EVERYTHING taste wayyyy better! Then I put white frosting stripes on it, and swirled a fork through it :) It looks prettier!

Took them to class for all to enjoy...maybe the combo of Amaretto, chocolate, and Heath will make class a little more fun :)
